A Message From Blodnick, Fazio & Clark on the Coronavirus

We at Blodnick, Fazio & Clark wish to update our clients on what is going on and what the firm is doing to support our attorneys, staff, and clients during this difficult time, in the midst of the coronavirus:

The U.S. District Court for the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York will remain open, but only to essential personnel. All nonessential cases will be postponed. Meanwhile, the New York State Unified Court System has announced the following people will be denied entrance to all courts:

  • Those who have visited China, South Korea, Japan, Italy, Iran or any country reported by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention as having “widespread sustained” or “sustained community” spread of the coronavirus (a full list of countries can be found here: www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/index.html).
  • Those who have had close contact with someone who has visited the aforementioned countries since the beginning of the month
  • Those who have been ordered by a doctor, hospital or health agency to quarantine, isolate or self-monitor
  • Those who have been diagnosed with, or who have had close contact with someone who has been diagnosed with, COVID-19
  • Those exhibiting flu-like symptoms

All court proceedings in Suffolk County will be held at the Cohalan Court Complex, located at 400 Carleton Avenue in Central Islip; only essential matters will be heard. For a list of courts and what constitutes an “essential matter,” click here. In Nassau County, all essential functions have been consolidated and may be heard at Nassau County Court, 262 Old Country Road in Mineola. For a list of courts and the essential matters they will handle, click here.

In the meantime, both of our offices in Garden City and Babylon will be fully operational during regular business hours (subject to change). Our attorneys are available for appointments and will be on hand to address any questions or concerns regarding the commencement of an eviction action or other civil lawsuit, as well as your transactional and estate planning needs.

The health and safety of our attorneys, staff and clients is a top priority. We continue to follow the guidelines from the World Health Organization, the U.S. Department of Health and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. If you wish to meet with one of our attorneys, we ask that you do the same. This includes:

  • Washing your hands thoroughly (for at least 20 seconds), or using hand sanitizer upon entering the office
  • Avoiding physical contact with attorneys and staff, including shaking hands
  • Coughing inside your elbow to avoid spreading germs

If you feel ill or you exhibit symptoms — such as cough, sneezing or runny nose — we ask you to stay home and set up an appointment either over the phone or via Skype or Facetime. To make an appointment, call our Garden City office at (516) 280-17105 or our Babylon location at (631) 669-6300, or visit our contact page.
